MASCA SA, Kelab UMNO SA dan MISSA sekali lagi berkerjasa untuk menganjurkan satu program. Kali ini mengambil semangat bulan RabiulAwwal, bulan kelahiran Nabi Muhammad S.A.W., program yang dianjurkan ialah Majlis Sambutan Maulidur Rasul. Walaupun tidak dilangsungkan tepat pada 12 RabiulAwwal, yang penting kita masih bersedia menggali hikmah di sebalik Maulidur Rasul, kerana yang penting bukan tarikhnya, tetapi hikmah yang terkandung disebaliknya.

The Event
About a week after our Get Together BBQ, MASCA SA once again organise a BBQ event. This time, it’s open for all and its mission is to raise fund. Selling started at 10.00 a.m. and was supposed to end around 3.00 p.m.

The Menu
Sausage with bread and Onion and Coca cola. Simple, huh?

The Customer
People really loved it. There were some students waiting around the foyer even before we started selling! We couldn’t really estimate the number of the customers. However, judging the amount of sausages that we managed to sell on that day, we estimate it to be around 500 people. It was really a busy day.

Sold out
Maybe it was the most ideal condition. Nice weather and no competition. Although we expect to stop selling at 3.00 p.m., by 1.00 p.m. everything’s finished.

New Concept

The Event
The 2008 MASCA SA committee was proud and excited to host this year’s first Get Together BBQ event. The event started from 10am and ended approximately 4 hours later.

The Attendees
We estimated close to 250 Malaysians, from all races, religions and backgrounds, attended the event.

The Menu
The menu consisted of juicy beef sausages, lip-smacking marinated chicken wings, crispy grilled onions, fresh bread, and icy orange juice and rose syrup.

The Surpriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise!!
The weather was fine and sunny with a top of 27°C (80.6°F). The purpose of the event was, as its name suggests, to let all Malaysians in Adelaide mingle with each other and hence strengthen the already strong friendships between all Malaysians. Everything went well until the police vehicle came…and they came with at least two boxes of Easter egg chocolates! Everyone was surprised by the good gesture of the police. Surprisingly, one of the police officers, Theresa, said she recognised the MASCA SA logo from the Seminar Langkah Bermula, in which she was one of the guest speakers (together with Michelle). Looking back at the photos, the MASCA SA committee thinks the event had managed to achieve this purpose.

The invaluable voluntary help from other MASCA SA members must be mentioned here. We, the MASCA SA committee, really appreciate the direct and indirect contributions made by all Malaysians towards making this event a success. Thank you.

Actually, it’s not really a video. It’s a set of pictures being put together and there’s background tracks.

The ‘video’
For the first half of the video, a jpeg file with solid black background is used. Then, it’s just the matter of putting words. The font is Akbar (I don’t have any rational explanation for that name) with various font size.

The second half is the pictures taken at all our activities. I don’t have any pictures in my hard drive. And, there’s deadline to catch. So, I’m pretty stuck with what I can find on Multiply photos. Thanks to Ihsan Afifi, most of the photos (except for futsal, I think) is taken from his site.

Last year, to conclude 2007’s calendar, MASCA SA organized MASCA SA Get Together Futsal Tournament. It was a great avenue for Malaysian, boys particularly, to get together and meet fellow Malaysians, undergrads, postgrads and families.

Now, MASCA SA would like to, once again, organise such an event. But this time, with larger scale, we hope that we can get more Malaysians to attend this event. This is the first event organised by MASCA SA (apart from Langkah Bermula which is more focused to new students).
